HI, I'm BRIE E ANDERSON
I'm a digital marketing analyst, strategist, and educator helping businesses around the world increase their ROI using Data-Driven Strategy.
this is my story
My journey started at the age of 13. I went to see one of my friends' punk bands play at Velocity (the local laser tag venue) and fell in love with the music scene. I followed all of my favorite bands on MySpace and learned to code.

When MySpace died I made bad websites and tried to do graphic design... None of that really helped anyone, but once I learned how Facebook worked, it was game over.

In 2011 I took my first somewhat legit job doing Digital Marketing.
2011 - 2015 Music, School, Startups
I worked with all sorts of music-related businesses for the first four years of my digital marketing life - promoters, DIY labels, bands, artists, public relations teams, a "new social media platform" you name it.
I wrote my first marketing plan in 2012 for a band called O'Kingdom, the plan included Snapchat, Tumblr, Giphy, Facebook, and traditional marketing efforts. I was 16. It was pretty badass.

By the time I went to college, I was working with an entrepreneur out of Nashville working on a new social media platform that would gamify the connection between artists and their fans. It was called The Fan Connection. The idea was sick, but we pitched YC, didn't make it, and ran out of funding - I was a broke college kid and needed "a real job."
2015 - 2016 Corporate Life
I'm not going to lie to you, this was a very short stint of my life. Junior year of college I did social media strategy for Aramark, the restaurant group for my college. I got the job after chatting up some guy I met at the gym who just so happened to be the director of the restaurant group.

While doing social media reporting and strategy was fun, I quickly realized the corporate life was not for me. I did not enjoy clocking in and out meticulously, sitting in a quiet office, and doing the same thing every day. But, getting this job the way I did, did teach me a lot about networking!
2015 - 2019 Agency Life
Right before I worked at Aramark I had an internship with an agency in Wichita, Kansas called Copp Media Services. They were just getting started with digital marketing and decided to take a chance on me. The day I started, I started working through the Google Analytics Course, then I did Adwords Fundamentals, then Advanced Search, Advanced Display... You get the concept. While I was going through those certifications I was also handling social media accounts for blast-resistant buildings, storage containers, and so on. Needless to say, this was another learning moment and pretty much the end of my interest in handling social media accounts. Lol

Once I had the certifications though, all bets were off and it was full steam ahead. The first Google Ads campaign I ever ran was for $1,000 my sophomore year of college. That felt like A LOT of money and I wanted to track every cent, so I did. I was able to see that we drove over $3,000 worth of donations to the page from that campaign and that's where my love for analytics and paid media started.

I spent the next three years working with the agency to grow their digital arm from $500,000 to over $3,000,000 annual spend. During that time I also helped the team take reporting times down from 40 hours per month to less than 8 hours.
More importantly, though, I worked with amazing businesses like Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Eric Fisher Academy, Visit Wichita, E-Z-GO, and more.
2019 - 2020 Teaching
While at Copp Media I was on the advisory board for the Digital Marketing Program at WSU Tech. This was a dream come true as I am extremely passionate about hands-on learning.

One day the board met and started asking who was going to teach each of the classes and something just clicked. I asked and was hired, to be the Director of the Digital Marketing Program.

I created the curriculum for and taught Strategy, Analytics, SEO/M, and Social Media Marketing.

Then... The pandemic.
Now, Today!
Listen, I obviously missed some stuff! But everything mentioned previously has led me to where I am today. Where is that exactly?
Well, today I am speaking on stages, teaching people in my own way, helping businesses become more data-driven with BEAST Analytics, and creating/selling cool shit for marketers with Marketing Merch Store... And honestly, a whole bunch more.

Passion is a Multiplier of Success
I believe that passion is a multiplier of success. I've been passionate about digital marketing analytics and strategy since the first time I was able to see a direct ROI. From that day on, I soaked up everything that I can regarding digital marketing strategy.
